Must-do activities in Coolum Beach for holiday-makers and locals

Placed between Maroochydore and Noosa, Coolum Beach is a seaside town, surrounded by National Parks. It is its own unique slice of laidback beach village vibe mixed with industry, tranquillity and community.

Far from the buzz and hum of CBD development and major tourist strips, Coolum Beach has managed to retain some original charm but still offers all great retail and dining options. Whether you want a pamper with a massage and facial at a day spa, boutique and gift shopping, a stroll at the weekend market or want to simply sip a latte as you watch the waves roll in, Coolum Beach offers a range of local businesses with excellent local products.

Pop across to the main patrolled beach (patrolled year-round), have a barbeque or sit under a tree with a fresh juice as the kids play at Tickle Park. If you’re feeling more active, organise a beach volleyball game at our local free nets. During school holidays, you can also take in a free movie in the park after a long day of sun, surf and sand.

If you are visiting between July and October, Coolum has some of the best viewing platforms to take in the Humpback whale migration. An active hotspot, watch them play with their calves and put on a splashing good show!

Coolum Beach also has some of the most spectacular coastal walks where you will find secluded beaches, perfect for a romantic picnic. Or take on a challenge hiking Mount Coolum which has stunning views from Noosa and Mooloolabah to the hinterland. 

If you are the active type, there are a range of activities and attractions nearby including two Golf courses, Blast Aqua Park, skydiving, the Ginger Factory (20min drive) and of course, plenty of beaches for a surf or a fish! 

And when it all gets too much and you want to simply chill and connect with family, friends and locals, Barns Lane Farm will be the perfect place to slow down and enjoy great local produce and meals prepared with love.
